On the 8th of August 2017, I was invited by the members of the desert crew Mt Isa to participate in running the swag city connected to the famous and most popular Mt Isa rodeo....
I was met by the crew at the airport and we all met up at Overlander Hotel for dinner and I got to meet the members and support crew...
Little did I know what I was in for with the preparations done it was a huge effort to construct our camp and to straight registration of campers and then the security of ensuring the campers could feel safe from unwanted pilfering pod their gear ...
The association of BUACA and volunteers meant that we had it covered and showed a true working relationship of bikers doing it together for their community ... the event lasted 5 days and in that time I was constantly chaperoned by Vice President Shano who looked after us all with taxi services and supplies of everything needed to make this trip awesome.
The desert crew who organised this event and made the connections with community groups to ensure they trusted us enough to take on such a huge role ..
